AN UNEXPECTED GUEST ARRIVED TODAY, a knock on the door of our seldom visited cottage indicating their arrival. My master called out to me from the other room, his voice haggard, and I staggered unwillingly off my perch where I had been enjoying my afternoon nap.

"Who is it?" I asked, peaking out from the window next to the door, face half-hidden by the thick curtains.

"Good evening," a large face popped up immediately in front of mine, and I hurriedly shut the curtains in his face. "Oh - sorry, I didn't mean to startle you!"

"State your business." I demanded.

"I was told that this was the home of the West Wood Witch?" The stranger stated, more than asked.
